can i take my small record bag on plane ? (see pic)

holds about 40 vinyls. can i take this on flight ?

Depends on the weight and the airline.
The size and dimensions are probably OK, but most airlines usually have a weight limit for carry-on luggage.
For example, American Airlines has the following guidelines for carry-on luggage:

* All carry-on pieces, including laptops, must fit either underneath the seat in front of you or in an overhead bin.
* The one carry-on bag must fit in an overhead compartment or under the seat. It should not exceed 45 linear inches (length + width + height) or weigh more than 40 lbs/18 kgs.
* Carry-on items which appear too large or irregularly shaped to fit under a seat, in an overhead compartment, or in a closet will not be accepted as carry-on baggage and will need to be checked.
* At times, additional limits may be placed on carry-on baggage based on the main cabin stowage capacity of specific aircraft.
These limits may be imposed after the boarding process has begun.

Passengers exceeding the carry-on limit will not be allowed through the security checkpoint.

size wise yes for sure- weight wise....I would say yes again.
I personally take one of these on board and never have a problem size wise- but then its not full of records. http://www.chemical-records.co.uk/s..._full/U9566.JPG This is a few cms bigger in one dimension than stated- but ive never had a problem, as they deliberatley give some leway.
I have a friend who works for BA and he says that he doesnt- and nor do his colleagues- usually bother to weigh hand luggage unless it looks really heavy (person struggling or looking uncomfortable)
I fly British airways (am next week actually) and their allowance is as follows:
1 bag 55x40x20 cm (22x16x8 ins) with a max weight of 9 kg in First/Club/Premium Economy or 6kg in regular econ/coach.
In first/club/premium you can also carry on a briefcase or laptop 45x35x20 cm (18x14x8 ins).
You will be absolutely fine. |

I am literally taking a flight every couple of months and not once have i ever had a problem with carry on luggage, and not once has anyone ever weighed it. Just make sure you can carry it... :p
If you are really paranoid or u know a certain flight is gonna be fully booked, make sure you are there early to guarantee you space for your carry-on...

Pretty much a repeat
1. Find out the weight and dimension rules with your flight company
2. Get there early

| i work for TSA...and i have seen Donald Glaude, Gene Ferris, Q-Bert, and Mark Farina travel with heavy record bags as their carry ons. You will be fine travelling with the bag you posted. |

took a rekkid bag that had bout 70-80 in it plus a big ass poster tube no probs on British Airlines

I'm normally carrying a slightly bigger bag than yours on my flights. In it is 2 cd wallets with all my tracks in and also my mac laptop.
Never had a single problem on any flight yet...
A couple of years ago I flew BA and they lost my record box and luggage bag on the way home. They did eventually find it but it took a week. Never again will I put records in a box into the hold. Its just not worth it.... BA only pays a maximum of £100 insurance and its near impossible to get seperate cover for records.....
So now they go on board with me.... or nothing |
