and you're going to be sending it out and whatnot....should you put some type of watermark on your promo tracks like a quick fade to 0dB or your production name all over the track so people won't steal your sounds? or make it 128 kb/s?
am i being silly? :D |

Well there was some thread here some time ago by some guy who recommended you should change a little detail for each label you send your promo track to, for example a crash sound or some FX at some point. By doing so you can at least find out easily *who* ripped you off ;) |

Or be glad that someone out there likes your stuff well enough to steal it and share it with the rest of the world. |

Some people put in audible clicktracks. Low quality is another suggestion I've heard. It's really a matter of preference, I think. |

anything goes, just dont bloat your track. putting your production name in a creative way into your track will be nice PR along with preventing complete jackass ripp offs. |

if you're sending your demo to labels in low quality..how do you expect them to judge your track and your mixing? bad suggestion,,dont do that, and dont ruin your track by saying garbage over it. spend 60 bux and copyright a cd full of tracks, easy as that. plus if anything, even if you're lucky enough that someone wants to steal your tracks, get a lawyer, and win the case and some cash $$$ 100% because you have the original creation files and no one else, but there is hardly ever cases of stealing anyways. Copyright your music, its cheap anyways.
