Are there any good edm magazines out there to subscribe to? I looked into DJ Magazine, but's it's like $200 a year since it is overseas. Anything in the U.S.?

Thanks

Yeh, I subscribe to BPM magazine. You can buy this at most record stores.

I get mixmag, $10 per issue. but well worth it. You will never get any better retail free CD's then the ones that come in mixmag.

Thanks a bunch! Trying to do some last minute Xmas shopping :D

DJ Mag is $200? God damn! BPM used to be pretty good, now it's absolute crap...the past few issues have had absolutely nothing to do with EDM. I think the last guy on the cover was Nicole Richie's boyfriend :haha: , and this month is some asian guy from Kid Millionaire. What happened to cover stars like Sasha, Deep Dish (twice!) and the Chemical Brother's? It's this new editor I tell ya, he's out to destroy EDM. He must be stopped....but by who?
jennavive00
Well it seems to be my only choice...And it's only $15 for a year. Even that MixMag one is about $105 after the exchange rate. Damn British pounds!!

BPM is actually not that bad a read despite what bas said...but the last issue I read was from like January.

I subscribe and agree! You can go thru it in five minutes. It's probably worth the $15 a year though.

Here is a void that needs to be filled. How about a glossy north american clubbing magazine with pictures, tons of good reviews, tour dates and club & artist information.

There's gotta be a market for this?

They got a new editor sometime in the summer, so in January it was still good :p. The first issue with this new guy has an animated Napoleon Dynamite on the cover and a story about the transvestite hookers on Santa Monica Blvd. :conf:

But for $15 a year you can't really go wrong. The record reviews are OK, nothing stellar anymore. Occasionally they'll get a really good guest reviewer, Desyn Masiello, Luke Chable, Markus Schulz, but they don't really review anything 'new'. The album reviews are pretty good, but they seem to just say anything out is good.

The fashion section is kinda neat, I always got all my new shoes after looking through a BPM :p. But the major articles hardly have to do with clubs, djs, the scene etc...

OK I've got a business degree and $10,000. Who wants to start a magazine?!
