imo the hype about the swedish housemafia has been blown out of propotion. nothing they do is exciting. they had one hit or something and then stuck to that sound cause it went really well on some dancefloors. if they wanna be taken serioulsy i suggest they move on and try to improve the sounds 10x. not sure they can tho.
this of course applies to other producers and genres too, but these guys might just be the worst example out there. |

yea im with angello on this one. Just because they have their own style, doesnt mean they should be slammed for all of their songs to sound the same. I look at it as a majority of their tracks are consistant with their sound. If you like their sound, you can expect their next track to have a similar taste.
Anyone notice a lot of PVD's productions and "reworks" all have the same bassline?
The one producer that i feel is all over the place as far as production goes is Sander Kleinenberg. You just never know what his next track is gonna sound like. Its a good thing and a bad thing depending how you look at it. |

I was never gooing my pants over the older productions and im sure as hell not creaming myself over the new ones.
I'm just getting sick of hearng the same tune over and over with different samples (what it seems like).. The older original productions were better imo.. see Steve Angello's first EP and the toolbox EP...

| i can't say that a lot of their work is somewhat repetitive, but i think people haven't looked beyond them either. if people would look into other producers in the same style, there is plenty of diversity out there. you can't expect these guys to be the entire sub genre. if you only play their work of course it's gonna get boring, but if you choose their best works and combine it with the best works of others...then i don't think there is a problem... |
