between these models, which one would you get ? i just wanna use them to listen music (no games no dvds)

Logitech X-530
Logitech X-230
Cyber Acoustics CA-3552
Creative Labs I-Trigue 3400
Creative Labs I-Trigue 2200
Altec Lansing 2.1 VS 2221
Altec Lansing 2.1 VS 2121

btw i'm on a budget, and these are the only ones i can afford
Inconspicuous
Klipsch 7.1

...I seek to stray from instructions whenever possible.

i have the x-530s
They are a little misleading though, because one would thing that they are weak cause they don't carry much wattage
... but they deliver a powerful punch

my whole house shakes at half volume :eyes: and the sound is crisp and clear as any

they might not be too powerful but it's the best deal considering the price

but hey it's not like you're buying speakers for an auditorum :tongue3

make sure you have a decent sound card for any surround set you get

ugh, creative. I love their sound cards but hate their speakers. Go for Logitech

as it's true with video, onboard audio delivers lesser punch than if you were to buy a dedicated card

i would avoid using the motherboard one
also I would avoid audigy cards, they tend to be overpriced (if money's not an issue, why not)

or if you want to save a few $ while getting the same thing basically:

you might also want to look at the Logitech Z3 2.1, price is around 70$ and looks really trendy and sounds decent.

I bought these back in 2001-2002, I absolutely loved them. Last 8 months, then they suddenly wouldn't power on. Was such a bad day. These things had the most crisp sound I have ever heard in PC Speakers.

Since they were discontinued, I was forced to buy a new pair, and I got the Logitech Z-680s. WOW. Great sound, but not as crisp as the Altecs were.

So if I had to choose between the ones you listed, I would go for the Altec Lansings, much better Highs. I wouldn't worry about the RMS values, I have 500 RMS watts and barely even use half of it. Its just too much.

Well, if they're only for music then you don't need a surround system...but I love my Klipsch ProMedia 5.1s on a sidenote. :D These things crank up to 108dB, but I rarely need to go past 40 for music.
