Hey, I got contacted by this random vocalist who set me up with some vocals to remix. This is my first vocal mix, and it turned out so much better than I had ever anticipated. The vocals could have been better, but I made them sound pretty good I think.
Anyway, the actual song wasnt even made yet, so I just made everything from scratch. I used Cool Edit Pro and FL Studio 5 with Vanguard and Sytrus. Hope you like it. Tell me what you think. :)

P.S. - Tell me if you think I should get paid for this. As it stands, he doesnt want to pay me. |

Hello Adam, I love this melody. Everything gels together nicely. Personally, I like a little more bass and bottom to the kick. I think if you are asked to remix something that is doing well, you should get a little cash incentive. You should definitely receive payment if your remix is getting much attention.

The vocals would actually be pretty good if they weren't 10 times louder then the rest of the mix (ooops edit at 3:10 he can't hold key. Sounds bad! :nervous:.)
Elements of the track (lead, kick, percusion) are quiet basic, and I can't hear a bassline. Percussion: again is lacking. There just isn't enough elements in the track.
I don't think you should be asking for payment in it's current state. Heck, I wouldn't be asking for payment unless the track was making money(ie. signed!). |

I actually fixed that before but I guess I uploaded the wrong version. I realized the same thing.

Yeah, no . The thing is, he is gonna make money off it, because hes putting out a single with this on it. He's got his own label. |

listening,
nice kick, bit bassy on the edeges... percussion starting to build in is good. synth work seems to be nice in the build. IMO you need to change the bass, im not a fan of sub stuff. maybes more percussion in the main build, percs, 1/4 hats etc etc.
Ah, vox... nice, a bit too loud and dry, delay and reverb effects have missed a good opportunity there. Luvin the main pitch bended synth, i really like that, very 1999 trance. The melody is great im liking that alot.
The main things i would do:
+ More Percussion
+ More Effects
+ Change Bass / Layer Bass
Great stuff, keep it up mate. |

Thanks Terry, I appreciate those kind of comments. Ahem, Rob I may have made mistakes, but I didnt come to this forum for rude criticism. Anyway, I've re-uploaded a version of the track with better levels on vocals. So anyone else reviewing this, thats what you'll be hearing. Edited link is in the original post.
