Okay, I am just finishing a track in Reason. But I've gotten a majore problem wich stops me from finishing it: Reason WONT open the projectfile! Theres no files missing. I can see Reason loading all the samples, but when the program is trying to load the clap all of a sudden reason shuts down. This happens EVERYTIME I try to open this projectfile, not others.
Im so frustrated! I was supposed to send this track to labels, and then this happens..
Any suggestions? Would It help to update Reason? My version is Reason 3.0.
Thank you! |

As of today, I've had a problem with reason too! Everytime I try and open a project file with similar things in them (all have the same synth with the same preset etc. ) it comes up with this error:

Also, in the Reason file/sample browser when I try and get onto the desktop (ie load a sample which is currently on the desktop) it won't let me view the desktop directory. It comes up with the exact same error message.:whip: |

to be honest i have never had this problem with reason. what are your specs for hardware and software also what version are you running?
yeah it must be pissing you off alot, another you could try to export the needed wav and rns files to a reason person and see if they can export it, but that may not help bcause you want to do some final touches.
im not sure what makes it corrupt, maybe you should try the props forum, but i will have a look!

| I already had this problem. Create a folder on the desktop and copy-paste your .rns file. Then open them directly. It works with me. You surely moved the file or some of its .wav components. |

after having a search i found something on the props website!
link
"File System Error" and "File System Object not found"
Platforms and Version Reason 2.0 for Windows (all versions), Mac OS 9 and Mac OS X.
Problem
* A "File System Error" message appears when creating a device or when attempting to load a file or patch into an existing device.
* A "File System Object not found" message appears when creating a device or when attempting to load a file or patch into an existing device.
Fix Reason now creates devices and loads files and patches without "File System Error" and "File System Object not found" messages.
even some people have trouble with simple things like this! Thanks for your answer.
After hours of , :headfire: and even some :jeez: I
have found the solution...
The problem was caused by a sample cd that was in the cd rom.
After removing the cd everything worked normal.
I still have to check if this happens with other sample cds...

Yep! Still running Reason 2 but I don't need the features of the new ones. Thanks for that, but how do you fix the problem?
d-miurge: I might try that! |

I'm not a reason user, but I've read somewhere that you can send the rns file fil to propellerheads if it's faulty! They can fix it, but I guess you'll need to be a registered user in order to do it. Stuff like this happen once in a while (been there), and if you can't get any help from propellerheads I guess your only option is to recreate the project as good as you can, and remember to save your rns files as seperate files, and maybe even backup yor rns files as seperate files every two-three hours.
I know what you feel buddy! :( I've lost a couple of nice projects this way too. |

WOOT! I fixed my problem by simply removing a few files (non-music files) from my desktop.
:D
Beyer: If it stops loading/shutsdown when loading the clap, try moving the clap from it's current directory. |
