really diggin this man. there seemed to be a little bit of conflicting bass frequencies in the first break, but it was all good from there. the guitar was super chill and not over the top, which i liked.
keep up the great work man. |

Hey, that's a really nice mashup.
I was just curious though and please don't take offence. Appart from the guitar in the second break did you write some of the other elements of the track or are they samples? Either way, sounds really good, was more out of curiosity that I wanted to know.
Also checked out your mix.
I know the mashups where made on Ableton but are you mixing using it to mix too?
If not then you have some pretty solid beat matching skills and I like the idea that you are just using Ableton as a production tool (If that's the case) which in my own opinion is probably the way that Ableton is best.
With regards to set content, prog isn't really my thing so not going to comment on musical style.
The songs themselves work well together and you work it up nicely towards the middle where you can feel the energy levels rise. On the down side I found the mix finished more on a whimper than a bang which is slightly disapointing.
Keep up the good work
Cheers

Nah, if I wrote some more elements of the track it'd have been a remix :D
except for the guitar and the few granular elements to the end, anything else is sample based (see ingredient list ;) )

Well, my DJing skills are much different to this when it comes to beatmatching (been DJing for 8 years), thats why I switched to Ableton (for at least making my monthly promo mixes) cuz its a new challenge and the way u can work on tracks is totally different :)
However, when playing live I'm still going with vinyl and CDs ;) |
