WOW! So, finally our wish came true!!! Now, when you record it, just make sure you have enough HDD space left (record ALL intros and outros too, the file's gonna be big enough so, what's a few extra minutes???)! If you record in standard *.WAV file, you'll need at least 5 - 6 GB of HD space left! Then, just go to http://www.r3mix.net/ and if you don't have the tools to encode it to MP3 with good quality (192 - 256 kbps with LAME encoder), that site can link you to them. Good luck! Too bad I'm on crappy 56K modem still... As soon as I get Broadband, I'm gonna get this set!!!

There ARE ways to record directly to mp3 (Windows Media Encoder is one of them). That way you won't run out of space. Also, your hard disk could crash after writing all that data for nine hours straight.

My advice:

1. Look up how to do it
2. Test it out successfully for an hour nonstop before the broadcast
3. Away you go.

Cheers :D

What if you have enough space (one 100 GB HDD reserved for the broadcast), 1.5 GB of RAM, 2.2 GHZ Pentium 4 processer (sp?) (my friend's uncle has this), and you defragmented and checked the HDD for errors using Scandisk/Chkdsk (Windows XP uses Chkdsk). On top of that, you scanned it for virii using the LATEST anti-virus software. I suggest that you at least 8+ GB of space for that broadcast because you want the original master to be in *.WAV format. While it's in *.WAV format, you want to do all your edits. AFTER finishing ALL your editing, compress it to *.mp3.

I'm assuming this is a webcast. Can't REal Jukebox or Windows Media Player save the webcast directly as an MP3? I think it can? On the other hand, If it was on normal radio, u could usa a Phono to 3.5" cable, connect that to your hi fi, to the line-in port on your soundcard and use Real Jukebox to record from a line in input.

A WMA file is a Windows Media Apllication, so I thinkit can only be played on Windows media player.

I wish I could be there myself! Then I wont need to download 9hrs of music with my connection. :whip:

WMA can mean either Windows Media AUDIO or Windows Media Application. If it's sound, it's probably WM AUDIO. Anyway, if you were at the performance, you could record it with DAT/DDS and it'll be (almost) CD quality! :D :) :D
