...pity me and pity him!
poor thing has about 40 stitches and a shaved butt. and he has been whimpering for the past 2 hours.
can't get him to eat his medicine for the pain.
it really does suck when your animals gets sick. they can't tell you how to help them at all. |

I know exactly how you feel.
My pet bunny (don't laugh) had serious surgery 2 years ago (has since passed away :(). It's awful when you don't know how to help them.

A trick I use to give my puppy her meds is i hide it in a piece of cheese. She loves cheese and doesnt know the difference.
Good luck! |

what was wrong with your dog? poor thing though :(
there was a thing on talk radio a couple days ago that made alot of sense. if its a big surgery, and it helps the dog live like 2 more years or more, thats wicked, and worth it, but if it was something that will only make the dog last like 6 months, then its for ourself, not the animal, and the poor thing is suffering so we have it around just abit longer. my dog got cancer 2 years ago, and it all happend so fast. soon it was either get surgery for him, and he would last like 2 more months, but suffer, OR, put him down, so obviously we put the poor dog down.
one of my cats just had a urginary track infection. hes only a year and abit old, so we got it fixed and done. luckily we found it fast, or the poor thing could have died and what a way to go, you cant pee! $750 later hes lovin life again lol.
hope your doggy is doin good. what kind??
i dont remember seeing a dog at your house! |

good to hear hes doing better. what happened to him?
if you're still having trouble with meds, grab the top of his snout, put the meds in low on his tongue and close shut til he swallows. |

the dog is here in timmins where i am for the holidays.
the surgery was to remove a lump the size of a cantelope. they said they removed 3 and a half pounds of tissue. quite gross.
he is fat but healthy otherwise. he still has a few years so better to get this done than to have him live with a giant lump.
i think it was a good decision but i didn't think so last night. |
