I hate it...

My mom is a catholic, and I hate how she thinks that she has all the answers.

I was watching something on the science channel about evolution and like that, and she was laughing the whole time, saying that it's all fake.

But the thing is, she is a scientist, and works to find a cure for AIDS.

I just don't understand why she is so annoying, it pisses me off. It really makes me think that all cristians are "know-it-alls", but i know that isn't the case, at least I hope not.

Yeah, I hate when religious people see their answer as the final answer in questions of science...I'll never forget this rabbi trying to convince me the sun revolves around the Earth....

Religion is all BS in my opinion, it's just the easiest explanation for everything.

Tell her not to bother, if god didnt want people to die of AIDS he would not have created it ;)

And I have no problem with christian philosophy, Maybe not the "Homosexuals burn in hell" philosophy. But, Like, how you should forgive, and like that, thats good living right there.

But when it comes to history, and science... ugh it makes me sick.

when it comes to christianity, or any major mono-theistic religion, and history, the whole philosophy of peace and kindness is way overshadowed by the violence provoked by the human-branchs (the churches). I propose this is because humans are naturally arrogant, and when they are supported by organizations that tell their followers that they are "the chosen" or that non-belivers will go to hell or otherwise suffer for not (blindly) beliving the exact same thing, violence is inevidable. I belive that religion (not faith!) can be blamed for most of the Earth's wars (I mean if you go back to the begining of mono-theism, which I think is inherintly intalerant), and undeniably for the "War on Terrorism" and the Middle East Conflict (Palestine v Israel).

This might help explain why there is no cure yet for AIDS. :o

I go to church to learn more about being a better person. The stories of the bible, true or not, teach me about hope, generosity, etc. But I am more into keeping an open mind about higher powers, fate and the proving ground of science.
