Destination: 2006 featuring DuMonde and Dillinja
Catering to lovers of sleek electronic dance music, Destiny is the promoter behind some of Toronto’s biggest and brashest New Year’s Eve events of the last decade. After taking a break last year, Destiny returns with a very impressive bill at The Docks. Destination: 2006’s long list of local and international talent includes DuMonde, a German duo renowned for its hard-edged trance, and Dillinja, a pioneer of the pile-driving British style known as drum ’n’ bass. Partiers can find the dance-music subgenre of their choice in four separate rooms. Attendees will also have the benefit of what Destiny claims is "the world’s largest Alpha Dyna Cord sound system," featuring 100,000 watts of digital sound. Something tells me those folks on the Toronto Islands won’t be getting any sleep until well into 2006.—Jason Anderson
