First of all Merry Christmas to one and all!
I got a Novation Remote 49 midi controller for crimbo and I just cannot get the bugger to work in XP. First of all XP didn't pick it up on PnP, yet it was powering up with the USB cable. Then I had to manually install it by going into the add hardware wizard and pointing it towards the driver files manually. And now its showing a yellow exclamation mark in the device manager window on it. Its also asking me if I want to run troubleshooter and then when I click it nothing happens! I have just uninstalled the driver and re-installed and it is saying that ths device cannot start (Code 10).
Anybody had this problem or any ideas? Thx in advance for our help.

Has anybody had a problem with any controller keyboard not working with plug and play then, or should I just send it back and get a new one? I've sent an email to Novation support, but I doubt I'l get a reply on that b4 the beginning of next year.

- Uninstall the drivers and all traces of hardware in device manager
- Unplug the keyboard from usb
- Restart machine
- Install drivers
- Plug in keyboard if prompted
- Click cancel to any hardware wizard popups until all drivers are loaded
- Unplug keyboard and plug back in
At least this was the way I had to do it with the X Station. The driver program fro the Xstation was written such that the drivers were not fully installed before prompting you to plug in the kb. All of these steps may not be necessary for the remote model.

Did the X-Station, give you a code 10 error, saying that this device cannot start, immediately after the drivers were installed?

| I never got that error. I just had issues with clicking and popping due to driver mismatches. Novation's usb audio drivers are poor adaptations of usb-audio standard asio drivers. They cause issues on both the X stations and Speedios, especially if you need to upgrade/update the drivers. |
