How Sirius radio saved my life

So, I'm here in the DC area for the week visiting friends.
I had just gotten into my car last night to drive back to where I'm staying. It was 12:30am, & there was hardly a soul on the road then in suburbia. I was going to make a left turn at a light. While I was stopped, I was fiddling w/my Sirius player. The light had turned green, but since no one was behind me, I waited a couple seconds til I got a good channel & then started to drive. Just as I applied my foot to the gas, this car comes FLYING across the intersection thru a very solid red light. Even if it were a green light, this guy was speeding big time. I even blew on the horn, and he didn't even apply his breaks then. I never woulda seen him coming, as the view is obstructed from the left side. If I had gone when the light turned green, that car woulda been in my lap, and I wouldn't be here right now.
So a big SCREW YOU to that very bad driver. :whip: :whip: :whip:

sadly, it was unlucky fate that my windshield wipers crapped out on me today too (the linkage chain broke), and now I have a $300+ repair to fix here. It seems like this car KNOWS its about to be replaced due to old age, and keeps crapping out on me b4 I can do it. Bastard! |

Nat had i known u were gonna be in DC this week i woulda asked if i could hitch a ride down .. i wanted to visit and spend some time with my cousin there for NYE.. when are u comin back ?

| that happened to my dad years ago however he got hit. he was in intensive care at the hospital but they said if he had gone through that intersection a tenth of a second earlier he would of died. :eek: |

ohhhhhh nooooooooo!!!! u know, i totally wanted to invite someone down with me, but having 1 friend already bail, and another decline, I really didnt think anyone else would have all the time off that I did to go. Sorry Emz!!! :(
I'll be back for NYE. Your cousin is welcome to ride up w/me if they want. ;) |

| Come to think of it, you're probably right. Unless I can call GM to find out the real price of the part and inform the mechanic of this, I may be stuck. I guess in desperation, I just agreed to whatever it was gonna cost. :( |
