I bought a headset a while ago and i can get the sound to work, but if i speak into the microphone, nothing happens.
I installed Everest which told me i have an Asus mother board,
the specs are as follows:
Asus K8V SE Deluxe
64 Bit
Using Everest, if i go into Multimedia then PCI i am given the following info:
Analog Devices AD1980 @ VIA AC'97 Enhanced Audio Controller
If i use the Asus site to try and update the driver to see if this changes things, ive download the following drive with the following info:
Version : 5.12.2.5280
OS: Windows XP
Description: SoundMAX AD1980/AD1888 Audio Driver version 5.12.2.5280 for Windows 64bit XP/2003
Ive downloaded this Driver, then when i goto Install, i get the following info message:
THE AUDIO DRIVER FILE DOES NOT SUPPORT YOUR COMPUTER HARDWARE.
I'm not gonna cry, could anyone please shed some light on this and point me in the right direction.
Thanks
