WOAH, UWMADTRANCE.. were only 4 hours apart! haha. I'm actually hoping to get accepted, in which case, ill be going there, but in light of my ty class rank due to my schools competetiveness (I HAVE A EN 3.7 AND IM IN THE 72nd PERCENTILE ) i got postponed. I hate "the formula."
Anyways, the trance scene... imagin the **best** you have ever had and superimpose that image over the tiest party youve ever been to.
It exists but it sucks, a lot. If your into it, you can have fun, but the people around you kinda ruin it. Ive been to one good party.. ever.
Sorry for the offensive likeness between and the trance scene here in MN.

well i have only lived here for 5 months but im sure it doesnt get much better here than what i have already witnesed. theres like one decent club that has some pretty good djs that come from Mainland Japan every now and then. the biggest event that we have here is Muzikcup. and id say the selection of music sucks, definitely dont come here and expect anything close to trance. no big djs. maybe if you have ever heard of Dj Shinkawa. oh and Electric Kingdom came here in Dec. but i missed that, in it were Lexy, Afrika Bamabata, Westbam, and Tanaka.
and for ppl who dont know Okinawa is a little island south of japan. about 60 miles long and 40 at its widest point. i know its a lot better scene on mainland. |

Did you see Tiesto in Minneapolis? That's probably the only decent
party that has ever gone on between our two states, even though the venue was not exactly the greatest place on earth. I don't have much time to get down Chicago b/c of school, so it was nice to finally be in an atmosphere where everybody was there because they wanted to be and appreciated great trance.

The only way to describe the Toronto scene is like this. Picture always having eaten chicken for dinner. Now, the chicken tastes really good, and you really like. In fact, it seems to get better all the time.
Now, one day, you are introduced to steak. Your so used to chicken, and you thought chicken was the greatest thing, but this steak completely blows it out of the water.
I just know that when I one day go to Trancenergy/Innercity/Love Parade/Gatechrasher et al, that I will realize that all my life I've been eating chicken because I will have had my steak.
In all honesty though, the Toronto scene has been amazing in the past several months, and the next few months look to be even better. Our lineup expected before spring is Ornadel, Corsten, Orkidea, and AVB, and that doesnt even include Wintergalactic02, which is sure to draw at least a few headliners.

| Toronto probably has one of the best TRANCE scenes in all of North America.....although I've been to Cancun....and they had some crazy ass raves, big name dj's, and HUGE clubs. Don't know how it is on an everyday basis. But every other person I've been meeting here in Toronto lately...likes trance. They may not like it as much as me, and it may not be their #1 choice, but most people know what it is. I was in Jean Machine the other day....and heard them playing Dj Tiesto. iDance...is gonna be even bigger this year....last year already 30k+ ...right in the heart of the city...On City Hall property. Makes me proud to say I'm from the T-dot..and living here. :toothless :D :p |

| In Seattle here, I do not like our scene, it is clouted with a bunch of crap!:) and nobody ever comes here! besides that, "techno" is entirely underground to all my friends.. ohh thats funny:toothless |

The scene in Belgium is pretty good! Not as big as in Holland or the UK, but we have some nice clubs and definitely some talented producers, DJ's: Push/M.I.K.E., Svenson & Gielen, Mr Sam, DJ Marko, ...
There aren't many big trance events though! There used to be Dance Opera, which was quite big. Now there is I LOVE TECHNO and they now have some trance DJ's.
But i still remember the days when i was 16... i was famous for my basmentparties! There only were 2 :D Too many complaints of my parents and the neighbours. But then we organised our own little parties 50-200 people. And i still think those are the coolest parties. A few people that you know really well, who just come to dance and enjoy the music!!! That is a perfect scene to me :rolleyes:

| The overall UK scene is great, but for Trance, its much better up north (Leeds, MAnchester, Sheffield, Liverpool) than in London, cos its all TY UK GARAGE :whip: :whip: |

| Boston pretty much just has Avalon - but at least it brings in big names on a regular basis... (PVD, ArminVB, Ferry, Scott Bond, Sasha & Digweed, Oakenfold, Dave Seaman, etc). |

i live in Overland Park, Kansas (U.S.). Need i say more?
The party scene is non-existent, we have parties regularly but they only garner a few hundred to a thousand or so, and no big DJ's ever come (though Oakenfold did come once last year, my first "rave" too).
Its kinda sad really, the rave scene here used to be pretty damn big, back in 1995 or so it was kickin, especially a coupel hours north over in Nebraska. However when i say kickin, i dont' mean creamfields or anything, just a few thosuand people at a venue (2-3k). Then Dateline hit and the scene COMPLETELY DIED (Thier stupid assed, misinformed, completely biased reporting of "Underground Raves" scared the out of middle america)! Certain ordinance laws were put in place which killed the scene (no music after 2 a.m. and like that), so then you'd have to goto St. Louis if you wanted a good party. (they got some pretty large parties (3-6k) but i have never been myself.
So then we are stuck with the club scene, which ultimately sucks when compared to other clubs aroudn the country, but on a good night there will be a good 2 to 3 thousand people there. However you gotta be 21, so it kinda suck and thus i haven't been there as well (three fake id's later i finally learn my lesson :)). Pretty much the party scene in the states is not up to par with the rest of the world (ironic isn't it? the area that started it never popularized it).
But the club scenes over in South Beach, Chicago, NYC are the bomb...or so i hear.
Oh i still remember the days when people were ridiculed and made fun of for listening to that "techno crap", and now those same frat/abercrombie bastards are listening to that "techno crap" because its cool now (lame, lame, lame). |
