(kinda borderline production studio topic i guess.. but im using it to create a mix so thought i'd ask here)
basically, i want to cut out a section of a track from within ableton. does this have to be done externally with a wave editor or can one somehow select everything between, for instance, bar 105 and bar 179 from the sample window & press delete?
probably really simple like i say. but help a n00b :p
using version 4 if that makes a difference |

import the file into an audio track and timestretch it properly. edit the start/end markers to go from the beginning of the track to where you want it to cut. copy and paste the clip below the first clip. change the start/end markers for that clip to go from where you want the cut out bit to end, to the end of the track. use the launch properties of the first clip to auto progress to the next clip.
this way you dont change anything in the original file, if you want to save the 2 clips, select both of them and drag them into the browser on the left |
