hihat - help

Okay here is the problem I am experiencing:
I have a 4 bar loop following a basic house, every 16th, pattern of a closed hat and and open hat. The problem is that when the pattern loops, the rhythym seems to become erradic with repect to its pattern. It is very strange.
All the midi notes were created in the drum editor using 1/16 pattern. The velocities are set to a reccurring pattern.
To elborate I am using battery 2 and cubase 3. I examined the problem more, and it seems that when the closed hi-hat is going alone everything is fine. But when the next loop kicks in (which was made using a copy of first and adding the open hat), the openhat starts and the closed hat seems to loose its rhythum. It sounds like it is all over the place.
I had considered that the answer was a closed and open hat conflicting on the same beat and checked my loop, but I had already removed the open hat. (I even tried adding it again) But it still messes up.
Here is a sample of what happens (please keep in mind this is my first loop creation)

| Does it matter? It sounds pretty damn cool, in my opinion. |

Make sure you've got the newest version of Battery - the old one had some MIDI timing problems.
Plus, Cubase SX 3 has enough MIDI timing problems of its own... version 2 seems more stable with plugins like Battery and Kontakt. |

i have got the newest version of batery, that is for sure ...
as for cubase, I don't think that there is much I can do about that, I have 3, guess I am stuck with it.
Do you really think that is the problem?
Do you all hear the problem I am talking about? |

| the first hat and the second hat hit at the same time, check your delay, maybe its in an odd meter or something |

You said you made a copy of the first part, and added another hat to the second loop/copy?
if there 2 identical loops running together, at the exact same time, they will phase each other out... basically canceling the duplicated frequencys

mikefassy: I am not using any delay & I believe it is all in 4/4
BLS: there aren't two copies at once. I copied the bar and then modified it. This version plays consecitively not in tandum.
I still can't figure it out |
