Getting into the clubs during WMC

Another thread here has me really wondering about how I'm going to get in to see any of the good WMC events while I'm down there in Miami this year. I'm just a normal guy, 36 years old, with a little extra money to spare for "incentive" money if need be. My (young) girlfriend is pretty hot I guess, but she's not the "Miami hot" with the tan and silicone. Neither one of us will stand in line for more than a couple of hours to get into anything, as it never seems to be worth it to do so in the end.

Being that this is our first time to Miami, much less our first time to the WMC and Ultra, is there any advice some of you veterans/locals can give a noob like me to help with getting in to the good events? Reading about the sessions at Bed, Space, and others during WMC last year has me really excited but really afraid that I'm going to see a lot of the events in Miami from a line in front of the club. :( :nervous: :( :( :( :whip:

When I was booking my hotel, one of the perks I saw at a lot of the hotels on SoBe was the Concierge being able to get you VIP into the clubs. Is this a load of B.S., or is this kind of stuff do-able during WMC? I also noticed that there is a company that specializes in getting people into clubs for a fee. Is this legit, and (more importantly) worth it?

Sorry for all the questions, but any "non-flaming" feedback is really appreciated!

for starters, if u want to avoid lines, stay as far away as possible from 34 NE 11th St. (aka club space)

for many events u can buy tickets ahead of time (def. do)

i think u may have a somewhat cliche view of miami and south beach... only the beautiful get in, etc. (although it may help u get in a little faster) i've seen plenty of ugly people get in ;)

buy tix and get to places early... and avoid space like the plague (unless u like waiting in huge ass lines and hearing awesome songs drop and dancing in line on the street lol)

i've noticed that the crowds at wmc increase exponentialy each year, and thinking how crazy crowded it will be this year is kinda giving me a headache... so expect lines

and i have no experience (nor have i heard of any) w/ the vip services... there are lots of vip's during wmc so w/ out paying an obscene amt. of money, you're just going to be an average joe like the rest of us :D

yep kelly is right.

my advice, just buy your tickets in advance and get to the club early. i doubt miami will be as bad as you've heard. the only problem i've EVER had during wmc was last year at space. got there around 11:30. waited in a nonmoving line until 1. then got in. but it was well worth it cuz we stayed till 11am. :p

oh, also... if you buy your tickets online and then get in through willcall at the door, make sure you have your email confirmation printed out. last year at spin my name wasnt on the list even though it should of been, so i had to go back home (only 4 blocks away :toothless ) and print it out. not a big deal for me since i live right there, but for an out of towner that could suck.

make sure you also have your credit card that you purchased your tickets with with you. at space they wont give you your ticket without the credit card.

Thanks for the info for the noob! :gsmile: I'll be sure to check into buying tickets online, and I'll leave my '80s Miami Vice pastel shirts at home. :tongue3

If you go to any club for WMC especially Space do not get there NO LATER THAN 10-1030pm. The thing is to avoid the LOOOOOOOONNNNNGGGGGG LINES at the door to any club.

Next make sure you get you tix pre-sale otherwise you would have to get to the club by 930 to be able to get in & not pay 75 dollars (throwing a price)or so & I think you rather pay 35-40 bucks presale instead. oherwise they will make you wait longer without pre-sale tix.

Also if you are staying in a hotel near bring a cooler with you & fill it with alcohol. Trying to buy liquor on the beach late night is not gonna happen. BYOB<---- Bring You Own Booze.

Some Hotels do offer vip entrance to the parties at the HOTELS. I don't think they will do it for a club only for the parties on SOBE HOTELS.

About companys getting you in for a fee.... Never heard of it. So I can't say if its worth it ot not.

BEST BET FOR AN AWESOME TIME:
Get to the clubs early. Trust me on this one.

I spent over 2 1/2 hours outside SPACE with a pre-sale tix. I got there at 1130-12am. Sucked major balls!!!
Went the next time & got there around 10-130 & waited 15 min. big defference. If you are not an afterhours person get there earlly. If you are better have some comfortable shoes cuz it will be a long wait.

Have fun at WMC!!!!

Hope we answered any question you have & helped you out as well.
