Technicsx2 and a mixer

I've been buying vinyl here and elsewhere for a while now because my friend picked some some DJ equipment... he has since sold it back to the guy he got it from and i'm in need of my own now. Only problem is, i dont really know where to look.
Best ive been able to find is around $1000USD used with a mixer and needles... any suggestions on where i could look?
I'm from west coast canada, if any locals know of anywhere or anyone with good prices.
