Hey guys,
I have a demo version of Traktor, I am using the same track on both decks to try to learn how to beat match. the track in question starts out with a long intro with a strong bass drum and ends with a long outro with a strong bass drum perfect for mixing (right?). It is approx 136 bpm. I am having a heck of a time, seems almost impossible. Is it because i'm trying to do it using a mouse instead of using real decks e.g. cdjs? I was going to go out and drop a grand or so on a couple cdj-200s and a djm-707. I'm wondering whether some people just don't have the skill or ear for this. no flames please i am very new to djing.
thanks,

| well, yeah, using a mouse is gonna be very difficult to beatmatch with. But regardless of what you're using, nailing beat matches is going to take a lot of practice. So, I'd say go for it, get the cdjs and start learning. This board is a great place to get tips to help the learning process. Good luck! |

| If you really know what you are doing, go ahead and buy some cdj's or turntables. Meaning you know what to do to beatmatch songs. |

Traktor is a great tool for learning the concept of mixing, that is until You figure out the Sync button then it just gets boring.
But I spent 6 months on it till I started looking for decks to mix vinyl. |
