The MTO should be replaced by YD for all testing and training. They actually teach you how to drive. if you take YD you will never be in an accident. straight up. Their Mantra is "There is no such thing as an accident". Every instance on the road is preventable, by driving defensively.. now this doesn't mean driving slow everywhere. but it's adapting your driving to every situation that you could possibly and reasonably face... my favorite is the Crash avoidance lessons... sooo much fun. sending the car into 360's and trying to recover.. or doing head-on crash avoidance... how to ditch your car safely. i could go on for hours..
There are so many people on the road that do not drive properly, it's scary.
Traffic jams are great example or slow downs on the 401.. all caused because people are terrified of large trucks, and they do not know how to merge.. The simpliest of tasks merging. aaaaaaaahhhh OMG i have to get that next lane.. what doooo i dooo... it's drives me crazy. :whip: :whip: :whip: :whip:
The on ramp is for accelerating to the traffic of the highway, not trying to merge at 60.. what the hell.
I gotta stop ranting, cause i could go for hours...
if you are not ready for the road after your lessons and written are complete you will fail. How many places do that.. what... Orchid driving school, with it's 3 cars is gonna deny you.. pfft.. i've heard many a story from friends that have gone to other companys.
simply put, save money on insurance, early G2 application (with a refresher lesson beforehand part of the deal) and just the fact that you know you can handle the vehicle in any situation and avoid $$$ accidents, and death. |

| Not a rip off. They actually teach you how to drive, whereas most of the cheapo courses just teach you how to pass the test. There's a difference, and failure to recognize that difference will come back to bite you in the ass later. |

That's b/c you're a loser...I took CAA. Personally I haven't noticed anything on insurance b/c I don't pay :stongue:
But also...I learned stick on my own. |

| Dynamic Driver Training teaches stick, and has all the perks of YD for about half the price. The benefit of going to YD is all the fun things they do for "emergency situations", teaching you to get used to ABS breaks and all the skidding and such to teach you how to handle situations when they happen. |

Yup, I took YD and it was worth every penny.
I agreed with everything they taught - minus the crap about stopping with 2-3 car lengths of space at a red light in order to 'slow down' the traffic behind you earlier. (lol) |

Is THAT why people do that? It just pisses me off, I've almost rammed a couple of people for doing that. Good thing I actually pay attention, I know a couple of my friends who are bound to rear-end someone soon, especially with people doing THAT . |

Actually thats not that bad advice. Especially in country driving a good number of people have accidents cos they try to swerve at speed to avoid animals (dunno what you guys have but koalas, rabbits etc) and lose control. So rather than getting yourself into trouble if you can't avoid it, don't try.
Except kangaroos, they hurt:( |
