Vivid, it sounds like this works in a similar way to my theatre program works at York.
First year of the program is a General Communication arts program, then you can stream into "one of four streams", where you will specialize.
Theatre works the same way, where you do one year of general theatre studies, then you stream into either Acting, Technical Production, Theatre Studies, Playwriting or Creative Ensemble.
Gimme a few mins to take a look at the course schedule and I can probably tell ya....
It's no chore getting into the Faculty of Arts @ York. They pretty much take anyone with a 70+ avg in high school... but I am not sure how that works for mature students. |

here we go:

York's Communication Arts joint program offers you the opportunity to study concurrently toward a degree at York and a diploma or certificate in one of four specializations at either Centennial College or Seneca College. It will normally take one year longer to complete than the usual university degree program.
If you're interested in the Communication Arts joint program, you will first enrol in any of the degree programs offered by the Faculty of Arts. In January of your second or third year of study (BA or Honours BA), you will submit an application to the relevant College and select your specialization.
Click on the name of the specialization to learn more about it:
* Book and Magazine Publishing
* Corporate Communications
* Creative Advertising
* Radio and Television Broadcasting
Courses will be held at both the University and the College campuses.

you must do two years at York Uni in the Faculty of Arts, and your admission to the joint program will be based on academic standing, and interview, and a "special test" |
