The one thing i hope this brings, (if it's true) but i doubt it will happen. Is a drop in the CDJ1000mk2's price.

exactly why i want to wait. but with pioneer's greedy and horrendous overpricing who knows :( |

I hope Pioneer will showcase something on the Scandinavian Music Convention in late February in Stockholm. I believe they have been a large sponsor of earlier SMC's, so hopefully we'll see them there again this year.

At the end of the day the only problem with buying a mk2 just now is that the price will drop. The Mk2 wont suddently become completely and unusable, its still good.
The reason the is so expensive is because its good stuff and takes the abuse, if was at SoundLab prices it would have SoundLab quality.

However, i can only see pioneer increasing the price of the mkIII and keeping the 1000mk2 at a similar if slightly lower price.
I'm really keen to see what they're thinking of with the cdj800mk2.
This is interesting, but i doubt it'll be released as soon as jan or feb. There just hasn't been enough hype about it.. Then again, who knows.

| The EFX-500 didn't drop all that much in terms of price when the EFX-1000 was released. I don't think the CDJ-1000's will drop dramticly either. The MK3/CDJ-2000 or whatever it's name will be will only be more expensive. I hope I'm wrong tho' :) |

| it'll probably replace the mk2 just like the mk2 simply replaced the original cdj-1000. |

| an MKIII designation pretty much means that's it's not a overaly major update. what would it do? Play MP3's or have a sampler? things i can live without. |

as for the efx500/1000 i bet if the efx1000 was named the efx500 mk2 then there would've been more of a price drop/discontinium... instead they brought out a 'new and improved' efx500 |
