| Tivo is TRASH. They track your shows/usage and sell that information to outside companies. There was a write up in more than a few newspapers & Wired a year ago. I'll stick with Internet cable & Brighthouse. $45/mo is worth it. Tivo can f**k off! |

when do you think we'll actually be able to reserve PS3 at the stores?
i want to make sure i get mine the day it comes out... i dont wanna wait forever like loads and loads of people had to do for xbox 360 |

| Once Sony makes their official announcement (maybe in June/July), you can expect stores will already have their allotments soon. I'll be reserving my 1 + 10 for Ebay quick. |

as most major ones didn't allow for them it may be first come, first serve.... |

cuz there is a difference, and in terms of broadcasts, its called upconverstion....which is standard in all HDTV's.
And the p which stands for progressive, is, in short, much better then i, which means interlaced....
And if you say that p isn't that much better then i, then why did progressive dvd(now standard) take over the market so fast? and virtually wipe out any interlaced DVD player....umm,cuz I'm willing to bet thats what you have now...
in terms up a 1080p boradcast you're right....probably never will be...but its the technolgy involved that makes the picture... |
There's absolutely no doubt in my mind that on paper 1080p is superior to either 1080i or 720p. But in the real word, its useless except "maybe" the PS3... and even the upconversion your speaking of is simply taking a inferior feed and upsampling it to 1080p, its not better. Its like taking a picture and stretching it. |

Ridge Racer will no doubt be there for the launch as it's pretty much a Sony tradition for the launch of a new console. Tekken 6 and GT5 are looking like good bets for a first day release. Metal Gear may be after, as Konami have never released an MGS game as a launch title. I don't know if the first 2 were just slower in production or if there was other reasons, but MGS4 looks like the most completed of the PS3 games I've seen so far. A PS3 Resi game is unlikely to be ready for the console launch, and a Final Fantasy game even more so. I'd be more inclined to believe that Grand Theft Auto 4 will be out closer to the release date than those two. Rockstar are definitely working on it, but the bastards are keeping so damn quiet about it as usual. The bastards! :D
Also Unreal Tournament 2007 looks astonishing. Really showing what the new console is capable of. Can't wait to get my hands on that one! |
