I've been looking forward to this film ever since I saw the attached trailer in Saw 2. After work, last night I went to the mall to see if there was a midnight opening. Nope. that put, I saw it today.

With so much hype surrounding the graphic nature of torture, it sold me short. Nonetheless, a lot of the content was implied, which focused more on the faces and muscles tensing around their bodies. Then maybe 1-2 seconds of drilling, cutting etc. The buld up was kind of slow. Mostly just the guys banging everyone they can get their hands on. Lots of pot smoking too.

Myself, I was rather disappointed. I'd read about a big plot twist at the end that make the audience clap or cheer, I found it rather stupid and hoped Eli Roth would've set parts of the script briefly discussing human trafficking or the ethics of humans who pay big money to kill another human. The only theme I got from this movie is that Americans are pompous and conceited that take advantage of any women that is vulnerable.

anyways, today i paid $8.00 matinee

So, how does it feel to be taken advantage of and having to pay $8 for it? (Somewhere a pompous and conceited americans are laughing their oversized, consumptious, and glutonous buttocks off).

I'm not promoting anti-american hate, being american myself, but the film did continously make references to americans from the hotel they stay at, to the club scenes, and even in the chambers. Eli Roth has a journal entry somewhere saying this was a mini-underlying theme.

//spoiler//
hell, the torture chambers had a phone number and email to kill a person. The highest bounty was for Americans
