record question

i just got a record, new, and after a few days of playing it, it already has 2 very light scratches.
my first question is, assuming i take good general care of my records, whats the best way to get the most longevity of the record?
and my 2nd question is: these slight scartches seem to be making the record skip, at least that is the only thing that i can think of that is causeing the skips. is there a way to repair, or a workaround or somthng? or is the record dead?
thanks in advance for your replies. |

Store ur records vertically in a cool place, but dont have them pressed too tightly together, nice n snug :)
u'll get a lot of "surface scratches" on vinyl that dont make any differnce to it, but if u scratch deep enough u'll hear it "pop" and "click" when ur listening to it, this is NOT reversable, the vinyl is stuffed :( |
