Now that homosexuality has become socially acceptable, do you think other extreme sexual acts (ie paedophilia, beastiality) will also eventually become acceptable?

I support bondage. James Bondage.

For some reason, I am starting to think that some people don't quite get it.

My opinion on all this ->

There are 3 reasons for marriage.

1) The old outdated religous reasons. "You are a couple in the eyes of god". Since all religon is bull, this is null and void.

2) Tax breaks. You pay less tax as a married couple.

3) An attempt by the gays to get totally equal rights. Rather than something that matters, they try to get equal rights in something that attracts media attention to their 'plight'. Let them get married if it REALLY pleases them. The church wont let them get married anyway, so it is a legal marriage theyre after. Let them do it, I dont give a , but I dont want to see two men holding hands down the street, thank you very much.

You can remove your second reason for couples seeking marriage in Canada.

There is of course another reason. Marriage is a public display of a couple's love and a public display of their commitment to each other. My wedding vows were made in front of family, friends, and my church. Those vows were not only made to my wife but also to God (as we are religious folk) and our families and friends. In my eyes I have a responsibility to make my marriage work and to love my wife not only for myself but for all those to whom I spoke my vows. I take that commitment seriously. I can't help but believe that I am not the only person who feels this way and am not the only person that recognizes an importance in the public commitment.
