bassline question for Reason users

Hey all,

I'm having this problem when making tracks. I get all the elements happening together, but somehow the bassline doesn't seem to sit right in the track. It's either too pronounced and seems to stick out like a sore thumb or else it sounds weak and unimpressive. I've tried using the compression effect to set it back into the mix a little bit but it still doesn't quite sound right. I don't know if anyone else has run into this problem. I've tried different eq settings, but nothing seems to quite solve the problem. I usually use two detuned sawtooth waveforms. Could changing the waveform help sort out the sound, maybe to squares...I don't know, anybody who knows anything about mixing down, drop me a line, help me out. Thanks a lot

you can add more presence to your bassline by letting a simple sine play the bass or accents along. This doesn't really alter the sound.
