Hmm... good question...
HP and Dell have both been nearly equally on top for years.
Dell is on top for commercial PCs, but HP is on top in consumer PCs.
The BBB is a consumer protection organization. So this involves primarily consumer product. |

exactly...# of units sold is a big factor.
To WHOM they sell is also a big factor...you've got to look at target markets, type of client, etc. e.g. if HP targets IT pros and Dell targets total n00bs, you're going to have a very different client (and complaint) profile.
Dell is marketed at n00bs too...so they could potentially have more unreasonable complaints becuase they don't have a clue.
But sure, for all I know Dell's service could suck ass...that graph doesn't prove it though. It's a good example of poor statistical analysis by giving #s without any qualification whatsoever. |

True. BBB can't give stats for anything else but their own.
Each company, HP and Dell, have divisions that cover the different IT markets. They both have consumer divisions and BBB is for consumers, so it makes sense this is for consumer product, no commercial product. |

Speaking of which.. Dell just aquired alienware which my best guess is to enter the AMD market so it may not be too far before you see some Dell's with amd processors |

Just a few weeks ago bought a Dell system with a 20" monitor. Happy so far. My only disappointment so far was that they preinstalled a bunch of useless software that I spent about an hour uninstalling.
BTW: At work I have HP desktop and two 24" Dell monitors :) Pretty sweet setup ! |
