Has this ever happened to anyone?
Well it just happened to me, out of the blue. I've worked side by side with a partner for almost 4 years during which time we've become really good friends. Just yesterday I'm told he is now my boss and I can already sense the awkwardness setting in. He has already started to change as he explains to me how things are going to be. Honestly I feel so alone here at work now. I'm happy for him, don't get me wrong, because he really does deserve this. Its just things are never going to be the same and it sucks... |

you just have to keep work and play seperate.
He might have to give you a bollocking in work, but that shouldn't affect your relationship out of work. I can imagine it to be difficult, but thats the only way it works |

I have been in this situation,being boss.
It didn't work and he doesn't work for me now,we made different arrangements. |

| ive actually been in this situation for the past year and a half! my boss is actually one of my very good friends....i get away with lots of ...but then i start feeling bad and work twice as hard...it is a pain havin to work for ur friend....but i would rather work for him then some who doesnt give a rats ass about me or how i feel! |
