Not just suspociously IMO. These are practically identical. I dont even think Sasha reworked it.
He did smash the record on stage. For definate.
But I dont think he made a version, deleted it then smashed the only vinyl. He bought a copy of John Johnsons remix and smashed THAT.
Where did the story of him making a special NYE remix come from? Or was that just lore cos not many people had heard the John Johnson remix? |

That's what I'm thinking too. Looks like I've been had all this time.
I'm pretty sure it was Radio 1 who originally listed it as "Sasha's NYE Mix". I thought they were a reputable source for tracklists! :haha:

if it really is John Johnson remix he deserves all respect in the world and all Sasha whores needs to bow in front of him.
on a sidenote JJ overall is really underrated. He've made some great remixes which not many seem to mention such as Dominion - 11 Hour (John Johnson remix) and Subtle By Design - Kali Yuga (John Johnson remix). |

Even on the off chance that Sasha did anything to the track (which he might have, but I can't tell because of the poor quality of the Gatecrasher recording) it is clearly John Johnson's remix, and he ought to be bowed to anyhow for being the source. |

Yeah, I mean all along I presumed that Sasha had done a remix, until I listened to Johns remix.
Could try updating old tracklists and watch the backlash. Could be good for a laugh :D |

now I had a close listen to JJ remix and compared with Sasha's NYE mix. It sure is exactly the same as the John Johnson remix.
