Hey there, I've tried to do a search but without results. I find myself using my CD-player less by each days that pass, but I do have a collection of great Mix CD's which I do want to rip into MP3's, but I don't want to rip each track seperately, I want them as one big file. I know I can do this by ripping all the tracks and pasting them together in Soundforge or Cool Edit, but I'm looking for an easier way out.
Thanks |

Wow. I was going to make this exact same thread today. Weird. :p
I mostly want to do it just to use on my iPod, transfer all the mix CD's I have to single files so that you don't get the little 1 second gap between tracks that pisses me off so much about iPods... |

With most CD ripping softwares you can just change the properties of the 1st track so that the length of it is as long as the whole album instead of the actual track 1 details.. like for example change 05:34:05 to 72:08:95 and then unselect all the other tracks so you won't rip them as separate tracks after the full cd has been ripped already. Some ripper softwares have preset one-click options to rip as one file even.
For appropriate CD rippers, just google and find the one you like most. |

in CDex use the "extract a section..." mode
in Exact Audio Copy use "copy range" in the "Action" Menu or press f7 for uncompressed (wav) and shift + f7 for compressed media
and really it isn't rocketscience |
