BIOGRAPHY
On the day of March 25th, 1985, Christopher Manik was born in New York City. Growing up in Kew Gardens, Queens, he had a passion for basketball, comedy, and music. He grew up in a Hungarian household. The Hungarian language was prevalent in his home, and it therefore became his foundation language. Throughout his early life, many of the tracks that he most enjoyed had melodies with strings and distinct bass lines. He would even listen to movie soundtracks where the uplifting nature of the music moved him. Christopher Manik started to hang out at various music stores after school in his early years in order to play with the samplers. In addition, he played around with his first music software and keyboard programs to create his first Electronic Dance tracks.
It was not until he moved upstate, to Orange County New York, that he began to create more tracks and listen to an array of instrumental music. In 2002, a cousin from Hungary introduced Christopher to trance and progressive house music, fueling his motivation to produce his own music. Christopher Manik entered the Music Industry program at SUNY Oneonta in 2003. In college, Christopher started the first Alpha Kappa Lambda chapter in NY State, where he met many people, including a man named Gary. It was Gary that introduced him to the culture of DJ'ing. He showed him everything from Peak Hour Trance to Progressive Breaks. Following this, Christopher bought vinyl records and practiced what he was taught- the art of DJ'ing. In addition to this, countless hours were spent listening to numerous records. It was at this stage in his life that he realized for the first time that Electronic Dance Music, Progressive Trance, Trance, and Progressive House were what he was destined to do. In the summer of 2005, Christopher perfected his talent continuously.
After some re-evaluation for a year or two, he decided to continue as a Music Industry major and begin his career as an Electronic Dance Music Producer and DJ. Christopher Manik has a lot of talent, and will be someone to lookout for in the future. He has made connections that will soon begin to help him experience life as a successful DJ. 2006 is a new year, with a new beginning for this new talent.
