But its a madtracker file, what is mad tracker?

This does not sound like the real thing, IMO. I own a JP and I've never heard a VST emulation that comes close to the brightness...

Just listened to the audio demo's... OMG!! Sounds like Crap!

I sold my jp some time ago and I'm really missing it now. I've been watching ebay looking for another one.
Hopefully I get one soon. I love that thing.

This vst is good, but i doubt its half the real thing. Ive used it a couple of times though (vst) its still a solid vst imo

I've got the Superwave P8. I don't really use it much for big washes, but IMO, it's alright for gate-ish leads and background sounds.

Super-wave P8 has an evil twin bro'. The "Trance pro super-wave" or something, and it can produce a bunch of cool sounds. It's Jopich, but nothing like the real deal.
The patch (not talking about combis or tons of Eating and mastering, just a plain patch) that I've heard that has been closest to reproducing the JP80X0 supersaw lead was done with z3ta+ (my fav. plug-in :)

If you want the JP-sound, get the real deal! :) The guy who sold me his JP made a couple of re-fills with recordings of the synth. He's one this forum. It was released a while ago. Use the search function! :)

I'm not a big fan of this synth (neither am I a fan of its 'evil twin').

The sounds aren't too bad, though the synth is very limited and feels quite unstable - some random sort of 'phasing' appears every now and then and I'm afraid there's nothing you can really do about it.

Isn't this synth made with SynthEdit? I thought I remembered it was because all SynthEdit synths I heard trying to create a supersaw-ish sample suffered from this awkward 'phasing' thing...

ya the phase sucks... but there are lots of ways arround it... now days if i want to use a 16 bar lead ill record 32 bars cut the audio and use only the last 16 bar from the recorded audio. phasing appears only when it starts getting midi + making sound for 2-3 seconds.

its actually a very good synth imo but cant get near the jp sound. and i dont think the programers ever ment to truly emulate the jp.
chrisspob
to be fair to the synth its a cracker of a synth for free, the presets are crap granted but with good programming and eq it can sound awsome, not quite the same as a real jp but similar sounding if you want it to be!

is there a better free synth for trance type music is what i want to know?
