t Comment on the Giant Village NYE makeup events

A lot of people on this board seem to be pretty pissed off, or at least are of the opinion of Giant's inability to put together a party, and while I must agree more could have been done to prevent the Village debacle from happening, I still think Giant puts on some great parties with awesome talent.
Recently I emailed Giant with a comment on their upcoming makeup events and if they would actually bring back the talent that was supposed to be at Village. Basically I was inquiring when a party with John Digweed was going to happen =).
Much to my surprise I got a reply within a day saying they are in the process of scheduling John in for a Giant makeup event. As long as they hold true to their word I will have no further resentment towards Giant because in the end, they provide a valuable service to me and are usually on top of throwing a good party.
I am not looking to open a flame war here, just wondering if people really think Giant is that poor a event coordinator or what. |

Imo.... Giant all ready loss it ass with this whole new years eve party. If Giant where to say something now and take it back later that could mean the end of Giant in La I am sure Dave Dean dosn't want that.
Is Giant a poor event coordinator?? It depends on what you consider a poor party? I think huge events like Giants village could be planed and coornated better. There is always more complants then good reviews.. But other then that Giant does all right |

| it takes a little over 2 million dollers to plan Giant Village.....its a tough party to coordinate and make everyone happy! but what they did on NYE is a looong story...in the end Dave Dean throws sick parties....great DJ's....always classy! everyone makes mistakes....cant always have a hit party....but on NYE....to make that many people dissapointed is not a good move......that easily could destroy what giant has been building for the last few years....but if peopel appreicate what Dave is doing...they will understand and still attend his parties! but if it wasnt for Giant to begin with....the LA scene wouldnt be what it is today...ill tell u that much! |

Well I hope Giant does something. I was talking to someone from Groovetickets asking why I got a refund even though I requested a make-up event, and they told me it's because Giant isn't doing any make-up events. Although I DID get an email about this weekend from Giant, saying that I can get free VIP because I bought a NYE tickets and that they would be doing similar events in the future.
I also asked if they really knew what happened with Giant Village and they said all rumors aside, "Giant just took the money and split". |

I'm not upset or anything, i'm sure they did what they did for a reason weather it be money or rain or what haveyou. One botched party isn't going to stain my image of Giant. Like you said, if it wasn't for Giant none of this would be here in the first place :)
Plus they're trying to make it up to people, like I said i'm getting free VIP tomorrow :p. I think i'm going to tell Mark Tabberner what I think of him once and for all!
I wonder if they'll give free VIP for Danny Howells too :haha:
