REVIEW: The Imogen Heap Concert was

…breathtaking.

Supported really only by a keyboard, beatbox, electric cello and few echo, filter affects, Imogen performed what may have been the most beautiful intimate concerts I have ever been part of at the El Macambo last night. (Okay, other than ‘Gene’ at Lee’s Palace which still remains #1 in that category for me). Please tell me someone else here was in the crowd with me last night.

Immi opened with a gorgeous acoustic version of “Good Night and Go”, graced us with a first time in Canada performance of “Can’t Take It In” and performed a few Frou Frou favorites “Let Go” and “It’s Good to be in Love”. She performed a few tracks from her very first album, including “Come Here Boy” and “Sleep”, an acoustic lullaby which was well positioned as the last song of the set.

I did laugh when a large chunk of the crowd opted to leave the concert once she performed her OC made famous “Hide and Seek”. Frankly it was one of the weakest songs at the show and I only really became a fan of it after I heard Zabiela’s remix of it. Ah, the kids these days. If Cohen likes it…it’s gotta be cool, right? ;)

Other tracks in the set:
Loose Ends Lyrics
Headlock
The Walk
Just For Now
The Moment I Said It

If you aren't a fan of Imogen's powerful yet angelic voice, you should be :D

‘so… let go…jump in…it’s so amazing here…it’s alright…cause there’s beauty in the breakdown”

dammit! That was last night? I thought it was next week?:sadgreen:

I just recently heard their cd and thought "WOW, that's one awesome voice". Too bad I worked late otherwise I would've def. been there.

By the sounds of it... I missed out on a wikkid show.

The opening acts were great as well. Especially the local guy, Milosh. I am going to dig up his CD as I was really impressed with his uniqe sound. Immi promised to come back soon so don't fret too much about missing the show :)
