im comming out to popsicle in april, and i have never been to the bill graham civic auditorium, nor have i ever been to frisco for that matter. what im looking for is some hotel information for that area. i want to be relatively close to the venue but @ the same time i want to be with in a resonable distance from everything else, such as downtown and all the shops and what not. is there an area, or even a street that some one could suggest for me to look around. it would be greatly appreciated. thanks alot guys.
oh ya one more thing, im not looking to spend a fortune, but im not looking for cheap either because i will be staying for a few days.

| When I went to the Love Parade in the BG Auditorium, I stayed at The Mosser. It was about a 10 minute walk from the Auditorium, but the great thing was that it's right by a BART station... so you can take the BART straight from the airport to your hotel. The rooms are quite small but I seem to remember they're not TOO pricey. Several years back I stayed there and paid like 50 bucks a night (although the bathroom was down the hall). This time I stayed there and I had my own bathroom and stuff, but it was a bit more. It's pretty nice, just small rooms. |

stay in SOMA(South of Market Area) or union square. anything closer than that to the venue will put you in the midst of crack-heads and transvetite prostitutes.
SOMA and the union square area is full of moderate to expensive hotels. my advice, stay east of 5th street. good luck. |

| haha, i read hostels for some reason. sf is a pretty compact city, most of what you wanna be doing is on the north eastern side of the penninsula, which is where most of the major hotels are anyway. stay anywhere in that area and you should be good, taxi fare will be cheap anywhere you go |
