Ok, I realise that this is not really Trance - this track was originally released 15 years ago.
Ce Ce Penniston's "Finally" was the floor-filler of 1991 and my memories of those jolly days are still very fresh.
Here's my vocal remix of Finally. I hope you enjoy it - let me know if you do.

Why no one has commented on this is to put it frankly, insulting. This is an excellent production and a good remix of an orginal track. Even though not technically trance, it does have a good uplifting house vibe with well arranged and mixed elements.
Good work on the mastering too, though i felt the precussion elements needed tweaked a little to add more depth. Seem's like a little too much high-end on the hats.
When did you produce this and what is setup? |

Sounds great. I recognice it, but it was a long time since I heard the original...
Nice mastering!

Well I started it early this morning and got it to the stage it's at now by lunchtime. I'll have another pass at it next weekend.
The setup is...
Cubase SX3
Drums - Battery2 with Uberscall House Samples
Bass - Trilogy, Moog Patch
Piano, Strings etc - Korg M1
Effect Plug-ins and Mastering - Waves Diamond Bundle |

Keep working on this remix, i feel it has alot of potential. I think it needs to have further layers (maybe a sub-synth or alternative hook outside of the piano sequence).
Did you use the Korg Legacy Digital Edition or the orginal M1 for the piano parts? You seem to have a nice warm sounding piano section. Did you use the midi from the orginal track for the piano arrangement?
I would love to hear more of your work if possible. You've got a good 'groove' for house remixes. Keep up the great work! |

Yes, the Korg Legacy Digital Edition. The M1 is really the only piano sound for house. I used the original midi just for the piano as it sounds really good, clearly someone sat down and played the entire piece which is not a trivial thing to do. I totally agree that it needs another layer - I'll give that some thought next week.
Thanks again! |

Sound's really good now! I think it has a good groove and the piano seem's to work really well with the track.
You should upload 192 or 320kps version for DJ's to use. |

Many thanks again Megazoid. You're a model of what contructive criticism is all about. I've tweaked it a bit more so here's the 320k version for anyone who wants to give it a spin!

Thanks for the kind words Ferdia. Not a problem to give good feedback!
I must admit that this remix is very professional and well produced, it's made it's way into my playlist. I could easily see this going onto future compliations. You should send this to the orginal label that released the track back in the early 90's. I am sure they would love to hear this!
I would be keen to hear more of your production work, have you produced anymore tracks (either in this genre or trance)? |
