I read the sticky and kinda felt :eyespop: :eyespop: :eyespop: yeah..so I'm interested in learning to make midi music files. How do I go about doing this..what software do I need..what hardware do I need..what are some good suggestions for hardware..I also need some help with the nomenclature. Thank You ^_^

Not to be an , but he's probably right.

The questions you asked are all in the sticky.:conf:

well i read it again..all i could gather from it is that i need:

synth. keyboard (61 key?)
mixer (i'm thinking 2x2)
sequencer
preamp (maybe? still confused me)

do i even need all that *just to start with* or do i need more?

i agree with what they said....

but you are getting way ahead of yourself...if you need to ask these questions...then the first thing you should do is more research...research until you can answer those questions for yourself
Dye4Life
alright, i know one person around here that i might be able to ask for some help with research. thanks.

Hey dude

Get reason and a keyboard.

forget sound card amp etc.

If you start getting good you can worry bout that stuff later.

The only other thing u need is time and effort.

what he said, except don't upgrade, just do it for a couple of years.

Don't buy anothing you don't feel a need for. after a few years you may feel a need for something specific, which you could get then, and would not be a complete waste of cash.

Skimming through the tutorials as fast as possible and asking other people to fill in the blanks will accomplish nothing. You need to read them from start to finish and internalize the information. It's all there, especially on the Tweak site.

Any one-line answers people give you on "how to start producing" are only going to lead you astray.

Edit: if you're having trouble understanding the terminology, try this link:
