Hey guys ;)
I always wondering about this....how can I build my home sudio..?I mean
I have a room 6x4 and how can I have correct sound.My PC is connected with a hifi that I'm not satisfied and I want to buy some monitors with amplifier propably.Is it good to put some special material at the walls?The room it's small and everytime I recorded something it sounds very differenet to other systems.
Any ideas??? |

Yes.
There are many tutorials about this online. If you're acoustically treating the room, I suggest products by Auralex (you can check out their site). Also, if you're willing to drop a little extra on monitors, I have Mackie HR624s and they are spectacular with the right placement. RB2K1 recommended them to me and I'm glad I listened! You have plenty of monitor options, though.
CARA, a program by a German company, is also good for the purpose of figuring out acoustics. Check it out.
Note: what you DON'T want to do is put foam everywhere- this will just deaden your sound. |

+1 on Cara CAD. That thing is amazing..
Though it will open a whole big can of worms that you need to be ready for, but if used well can produce awesome results.. |

Check this out. This is what I have done. And it wasn't expensive at all. The dieferance in monitoring is totaly unbelivable. Now my monitors sound the way they should..

As I can see armanivespucci says no to foam and Djdirty has a fantastic "tutorial" of how you can make a room...studio!!I'll print this amazing post to study it!:)
