Hi
Im buying a new monitors for EDM production, and I'm wondering what monitors should I take?
My selection is:
-Mackie HR826 or HR626 (is it worth spending some more on 828 if I decide for Mackie?
-Krk V8
-Event (not sure what model)
+ is there anything bitter for that money range?
Please help me with your experiences.
Thanks a lot |

| The HR624s are fine. I have them, and unless you want painfully precise low-end, they're perfectly fine. You won't find a bad review; however, you might want to consider some acoustic treatment to fully appreciate Mackie HRs. |

you should listen to some genelecs too. the 1030 plays in the same league as the mackie hr826.
i've listened to a lot of monitors and in the end I decided for the genelecs 1030. but i wouldn't say that the others sound bad, for my taste the genelecs sounded better. but you should listen yourself to some monitors as they must fit your expectations of the overall sound |

| Of those three I'd recommend the Mackie HR824. If you listen to them vs. the HR624, I think you'll agree that they are worth the money over the HR624 (and they blow all the other ones in that price range out of the water). Whereas the HR624 is a distinctly near-field monitor, the HR824 is powerful and solid enough to be used as a mid-field - the bass response in particular is much better. |
