God Damn Contacts

In order to see chicks better at nightclubs, I decided to get contacts. But it seems like no matter what I do, I cannot insert the contacts in my eyes. Overall, I've probably spent a good 4 or 5 hours, but still no positive results. Of course, I can always resort to wearing glasses, but I don't want to look like a geek in my glasses while dancing funky to the amazing sounds of Manzone & Strong.
Anybody had problems with contacts? Any tips?

Get cool looking glasses. I couldn't wear contacts, I don't think I could stick anything in my eye, I can barely take eye drops!

* Leave the contacts in the case for a half an hour, let your eyes rest.
* Put a contact on the index finger of your right hand
* Tilt your head back
* Using the ring finger (bottom lid) of your right hand and the middle finger of your left hand (top lid), stretch the eye lids in the down and up direction respectively -- your head is still titled back.
* gently slap the contact on to the eye with your index finger (since your head is tilted back, the contact should easily come off your finger b/c of gravity and suction that the eye moisture will create between eye and contact)
* gently close the eye lids
* move your eye up and down a few times, then side to side a few times
* open your eye.

repeat with other eye

Voila

PS - I had huge troubles with contacts the first few times :D

How far are you getting with it?

I remember WAAYYYYY back in the day when I first got contact, the first few days were hell trying to get them in. But trust me, it gets easier and easier. You just need to keep pressing.

make sure you dont end up putting it folded on your eye. happened to me once. felt like a razor blade scraping against my eye ball.

have fun!!:D

When I first got contacts I had a really hard time with them too, but now it's super easy, I don't even need a mirror.

If you can't get it the first few times and your eyes start to get irritated...give them a rest and let them breath.

It works differently for everyone. The way I find they work best for me is that I clean them off with a little solution and rub them around between my index finger and thumb. Then I place it on the tip of my index finger...making sure that it's the right way. You can tell b/c if it's the wrong way the edges kind of go out a bit, whereas the right way the edges will go in as to form right to your eye.

Then I look really close into the mirror...look straight a head...and try to place the contact directly on the centre of your eyes. Don't PUSH it...just place it gently.

To take them out, I had a bit of trouble. You never want to pull it out right on top of your eye. Look straight into a mirror, then gently place your finger on the bottom of the contact, then slowly look up and pull the contact down. Do this with your index finger and then when you pull it down, take your thumb and squeeze the contact off. GENTLY!

GOod luck man...it's definatly hard the first few times, but you get used to it. Just make sure if your eyes are hurting or getting irritated, give yourself a break and try again later.

Thanks you guys very much. Now I finally got'em in, but I couldn't pinch'em out, so I started rubbing my eyes and that's how I got them out. Does anyone know if it's bad for your eyes to remove them by slightly rubbing your eyes? I would guess that it's not so good, any ideas?

Don't They come with a 10 Page instruction booklet?

If not, there damn well should be one!

i always wash my hands really well and "pinch" them out with my index fniger and thumb. You just have to get used to poking your eye with your fingers.

I wouldn't recommend rubbing your eyes to get them out. They might fall out and onto the floor or something and loose them. Or, they can end up rolling back into your eye socket and/or folding up which is a pain in the ass.

Once I while putting them in, my eye starting tearing up a lot and it was really liquidy. I finally got the lens in, but I started rubbing my eye 'cause it was irritating. All of a suden I thought i had lost my contact lens. I was searching the floor frantically when all of a sudden i felt come back over my eye and could see clearly. It had moved around into the edges of my eye - which isn't cool at all.

in the end - practice makes perfect ;)

haha, on a side note, don't poke your I outin the process... don't want to look like this --> :thepirate

Superstring's instructions are exact. Don't worry man eventually it will be second nature. I wear my lenses at all times and yes it was tough at first. They've fallen out of my eye on factory floors, at clubs and I just lick em clean and pop em back in. But yes I'm f'ed up and wouldn't recommend doing that.
