For those who don't know....

Nautilus brings the concept of live organic breakbeat to a new
level of science.

Unleashing relentless inventions of theme and variation in music
and sound, Nautilus performs pure, original improvisations every
show. With danceable breaks at the core the influence of Jungle,
Jazz, IDM, and everything else under the Sun comes shining
through.

Wandering the inner corridors of the experimental fibers of music
since 2002, the trio finds a way to keep the vibe strong even in
their deepest explorations. Layering melodies of espionage with
dark, sinister bass and driving breaks to weather the storm all the
way back to the backbeat.

Nautilus is lead by Avi Granite and Scott Peterson. The two
met while studying at the Banff centre for performing arts in
2002. Since then, they have been tirelessly developing their
unique improvisational language, with a rotating cast in the drum
chair, to form a trio. Through the voices of a variety of
instrumentation and technology including guitar, bass, drums, as
well as digital and analog F/X's, Nautilus delivers a unique musical
experience.

Based in Toronto, the trio is on the cutting edge of both the
avant-garde improvised music scene as well as Toronto's vibrant
electronica scene.

No two Nautilus shows are the same, at large venues and small
clubs, Nautilus performs energetic and unique music. A Nautilus
show consists of non stop improvised organic breaks. The
audience comes to listen, to dance, or to socialize. The trio's
audience is a cross section of those in the know, those who like to
hear new things, jazzers, artists, rappers, dj's and everything in
between. People who listen to a set of Nautilus hear everything
from hip hop to Miles Davis to Led Zepelin. Expect to hear music in
a whole new way after a Nautilus show.

"Three Cuts in London" - the trio’s highly anticipated debut album
was released November 2004 on Pet Mantis Records to critical
acclaim. The album consists of 11 tracks culled from three
improvisations, the fruit of a one day session in London, Ontario.
