My father is a bit of an old school EDM fan and loves his collection of Kraftwerk. When I was back in the UK at Xmas he was trying to convince me that Coldplay had borrowed a melody from Kraftwerk. Sounds improbably but have a listen
Coldplay - Talk
Kraftwerk - Computer Love (Scroll down to Track 5 for a sample)
Your thoughts? It does sound very similar! |

for your information this is no secret. Coldplay have mentioned in interviews how they discovered Kraftwerk and were really fascinated by their music and took loads of influence.
If I even recall correctly Kraftwerk are even credited in the CD booklet for X&Y |

Thanks!
I can understand that Kraftwerk are very influential but I thought this was predominantly in the EDM scene, appears I was wrong! |

| It's no secret. In the details for 'Talk' on X&Y, Karl Bartos & Ralf Hütter (as Hutter) were given co-credits. They were the main guys behind Computer Love. And the ambient guru Brian Eno plays the synths in 'Low'. :D |
