Thrice - Image Of The Invisible (Tyler C's Thief River Mix) [full 320]

This is my first track in a while. I actually did this several weeks ago, but then my comp got a virus and I've been trying to get everything back up and running since then.

I tried to go for a Max Graham style with this one. It's fairly chill with a big melodic break in the middle.

Comments are appreciated.

i'm completely diggin' it. i love thrice, and this is very cool!!!

the only downsides i have is the vocals are 1 beat behind, and i would love to hear more of the chorus guitar riff toward the end of the song. it would really make it blow up. you threw it in toward the beginning, but i wanna hear it again damnit! :happy2:

thanks man.

yea, i originally had the vocals where they were supposed to be, but i didn't like the groove it created at all. i think they feel a lot more natural where they are now. i think the only people who would notice it would be the people who have heard the track before.

thanks for the comments!

dling,
I'll listen later.

I like the start of it.
Cool bass. But it needs more low end.
The electric guitar is too distorded and it's too low in the mix.
The vocals should be more upfront in the mix. Just a bit more.
When you bring the track back in 4:00 you should have something much more banging. oh wait a sec, there's another break right after that.
You should some variation on the melodies.
There are too many breaks in the track. It kills the moment.
It's getting a bit boring to hear the same melodies over and over.

Nice track, it has potential but it's not there yet.
6.5/10

Omer.

thanks omer. i'm more or less satisfied with the levels on this one, but thanks for the feedback. the guitar was just a sample from the pack, there wasn't really anything i could do with the distortion aside from re-recording it myself.

anyone else? this has already had well over 100 downloads and only 2 replies..........

Finally got around to listening. All around the sounds are nice and clear, really loved the percussion and drums. The guitar sounds are nice too. I actually felt that the kickin and the intro were too alike to distinguish and real difference.. liked the breaks (what else is new :).

Hey Tyler

I like the intro, although I do feel it sets a different mood than when the bassline comes in, though it does work.
Nice bass changes at around 2 minutes. I hear those gated pads you used in 'A moment's notice' sounds excellent.
I can't really make out the vocals when they start, not sure if you used an acapella or an original track, but perhaps they could stand out more.
Not sure I like the gated FX you put on the vocal parts.
Awesome breakdown at 4.20, really full sound going here. I think maybe the breakdown goes on a bit long, but I'm just into long breakdowns myself so It's probably fine :D.
6.31 I like this change too man, the vocals are sounding a bit better here.
Enjoyed listening to this song, bassline is excellent :) by the way. Thanks for the 320btw ;). Oh no, lose those chopped vocals at the end! :D
