This may not appeal to some but its damn good and easy on the wallet. (for those college folks) Im trying to use recipies that anyone can use no matter the budget.
this particular set used kabobs but it was because I was sick and didnt want to deal with all the prep work plus it had veggies already :tongue2 ...otherwise you could do it using breasts and it would be cheaper.
3 chicken kabobs (albertsons butcher) ~$9.00
2 boxes of Stagg silverado clili ~$1.00 a box (sale)
1 ricecooker full of rice ~ $0.30

The kabobs already had seasoning on them but I added " Emiral Essance" before throwing them on the foreman grill. Dont bust my balls for "ruining" a nice set of kabobs. I had straight up kabobs the week before and was trying something new. :whip:

Put the 2 boxes of Stagg chili into a pot. I added tobasco sauce and my homemade BBQ sause to make it less of a "out of a can" taste.

Put rice into rice cooker...easy huh?

Once chicken kabobs (in this case) are done to your liking, take them off the stick, and add to the chili

Stir and let simmer on low for a few (10-15mins or until rice is done) before adding over the bed of rice.

This was suprisingly good, especially because I was really sick and didnt hjave a lot of energy. This was simple and hit the spot after 3-4 days of ingesting just liquids.
Give it a go and let me know what ya think.:) |
