Anyone heard of Dj Splice?
I was invited tonight to some gig at a club celebrating their grand opening in college station. I'm going to go just to check out but from what I know this guy spins house and reggae. I know it's somewhere down University Dr. and that the cost is $10 a head. Doors open at 9pm. Again this was some random here at school that told everyone. My roommate called and yes, there really is going to be a gig.
Anyone know of this Dj?

He's on a site called throwdown.com. If its the one from San Fran, it should be decent.
He plays House though. |

Meh....i have lots of school pride for UT. Not that its the best school either i would think, so I kinda keep that at a limit. I walked into "The Tap" one time in college station and had this guy (of course he reeked of vodka) come up to me and say he was going to burn my car if I didnt take of my shirt (it read "School of Architecture in orange letters, and a longhorn logo in the back). I got kinda scared of going back to that place since this guys like a good 6'-9" and ing buff as hell.
Screw em'.... |

awww the tap. that was my stomping ground. and i can bet almost 100% that it was either one of my fraternity brothers or one of my old neighbor football players that said that. sounds about right. like i said, i never got into it though. |

yea i pretty much only went there when Mary Beth Decker (from MTV's Road Rules/South Pacific) was working there. That was another problem. All these tards (including some from UT) acted like they were her bodyguard or some , until one of them mouthed off to some club bouncer that stopped by to grab a bite one night, and got his ass beat so hard, I had to take pictures from my phone.
And believe me Dirk, Frat bros are nuts. I wouldnt doubt it either that it was one of your known bros. I think I paid the price for what i did to this dudes car on 6th street last year :conf: :eyes: |

she was nice... she kinda got wrapped up in the whole fame thing once she did the playboy shoot at the tap and then headed off to the road rules deal. but then all that extra attention. and yea, the crowd of guys that occurred after all that - just retarded. |

well been here since '94 (transferred in and just stayed), seen alot of clubs come and go here. Library sucks now for sure. The Groove & V bar are picking up steam now that my buddy bought it (groove that is). The new club....we'll wait and see...nothing ever makes it there because it pulls in all the Bryan trash. The tap is kinda gay too...piano bar and then an 80's night. I'm old enough to kinda enjoy the 80's night stuff...they have a band that does it all live and is really good. I'm talking New Order, Devo, The Cars, The Buggles, etc, etc...and they sound pretty close to the original.
Mary Beth...there's a name for you. She dated one of my buds for the longest time. Nice girl, but I think fame did get to her a little bit.
Dirk...you ever go to the Tap when Head West(I think that was the name of the band) was playing there? |
