Review:
So I finally popped my Footwork cheery on friday! Got there around 11:30-ish after stopping by for some gummy bear shopping (lol) at 7-11 and meeting up with Christina a bit beforehand. I was a little bit dissapointed because I thought I missed out on the cheap mixed drinks....We walked after I was called Chris P. Creme and my first reaction was not a very good one. But after observing the whole space I decided to eat my words. It was small and unimpressive but the dark and dirty atmosphere are what I loved! It was very suitable for the dirty clowns lol..The sweat and heat factor actually tie in well...not really. It was way too hot in there and that's just one of my major complaints. What's the other? Well it's pretty obvious: the sound system. It was totally unbearable for a while until they turned up the sound quite a bit. It wasn't a great improvement but the music being played was too good for me to care.
I don't remember who was on at what time throughout the whole night which is a GOOD thing. The music selection + mixing were phenominal!!! So many retarted techy tunes!! I was so in love! I went nuts so many times...I don't even remember if some of my favs were played but I do believe that For Sale - Buy Now and No More Conversations was played. But I gave it my all to That Feeling Bring It Back Again (D Formation Takes Over Vox) and Cirez D - TEASER!!!!!!!!! It really sucks that it closed at 5 but it was a great night nonetheless.
The crowd wasn't the best but there were some pretty good looking people in there...although apparently I was too busy with the TOTW to notice lol..It was really awesome to finally meet Lindsay (Killah Monkey) + Filbert lol and Jason (Chinamon). Cheers to my usual crew (George and Ang) and to the rest of the bunch..
Christina - For once we switched roles...I was the whore and you were empty handed lol
Ben - Thx a million for the ride home and cheers to partying sober (somewhat lol) and drugfree :)
Jon - I can't tell whether you're under the influence or not; I guess that just means you're always extra hyper lol. When salsa house was played I instantly thought of your kickass set.
Tristan - You're my partner in crime when it comes to trainspotting lol. Love sharing the dancefloor with you!
Frank - When you dry humped Christina...ahahahaha...wtf was that all about?! I heard you were funny, but that was ridiculous! I loved it lol. You pretty much disappeared after that, didn't really see you inside.
Sean - It's been quite a while since I saw you last,and I was really happy and surprised when you showed up! Bring it up!!! Hopefully I'll be seeing you more.
Del - Wikkid dancemoves on the floor. Can I borrow your gf? lol

Guess I should write a review since I was there. :) It was my 2nd week in a row hittin up footwork. Wasn't planning on it but Paranoid Jack was too good to miss. Got in around 11:30ish with Christina and Cribby, was glad to find out that 3.50 drinks went until midnight... jackpot!! :D So by 1am all those drinks I bought plus the scotch I chugged just before coming in was kicking in quite nicely.
Addy & P.J. tore the place up!! I was really diggin their set. Too bad it was only 2 hours. Track selection was good but I felt it could have been better. Mixing was top notch though. At least it seemed that way in my drunken state. :toothless Manzone & Strong came on after and played a good set. But I felt they started off a bit slow. I wish they had built on the energy from the previous set. Great tunage from all the DJs nonetheless. I didn't feel like leavin when 5am rolled around.
Good seeing a bunch of TAs there. Guess I love the vibe there b/c of you guys. Didn't mingle much with anybody else... I was too busy giving the dance floor a good smackin. Christina... my sister in dance floor crime :), Tristan, Justin, Lindsay + Filbert.. up to no good monki business as usual :stongue:, Del, Frank, Jon Jon, Sean, Chris, Gloria, Jay, Lyle... the dirty clowns.. Cribby, nice to finally meet George & Angelo... pleasant surprise to see Little John & Steph_Stanton there as well. Hope I didn't miss anyone. You guys rawk!! All in all, a wikkid night! :D |
