Difference between these 2 Max Graham tracks?

Was listening to Max Graham Vs. Yes - Owner Of A Lonely Heart, but what's the difference between the Club Mix and the Max Graham's Sidechain Mix???

I'm killing the song trying to figure out the difference! :p

The Sidechain mix uses a production trick called Sidechaining.

Basically what he has done is sidechain the rest of the track to the kick so whenever the kick plays the rest of the track ducks underneath to create a pumping effect. :)
Grrrrr
you learn something new everyday, thanks :)

Yeah, it's a nice technique but it is WAY over-used these days :whip:

is the sound difference noticeable?

does it sound something like the bassline eating the track on Hammer & Bennett - Language (Santiago Nino Dub Tech Remix) ??

yes!

If you where to take the "sidechain" off that track it wouldnt sound like the bass was warping or fading in on the off beat. It would sound like a pad but playing bass.

:)

Anyone wanna yank a sample off both the Club Mix and the Sidechain Mix and show the difference that Sidechaining makes? :)

max graham
there's only one mix of this by me, it was called the sidechain mix when it was a bootleg, then was renamed club mix when it was picked up by the label and released properly...

same exact mix
